Zorro
is owned by Ray
and Karel Simms, Reno, Nevada. Zorro began his show career
with a bang with a 1st 6-9 dogs and Reserve Winners Dog as well as
2nd in Sweepstakes at the 2000 Kansas City Rottweiler Club at 6
months and 2 days old. Zorro continued his winning ways at the
2000 Gold State Rottweiler Club Specialty by winning both his sweeps
and regular 6-9 class. Zorro took another trip to Northern
California to the 2000 American Rottweiler Club National Specialty
and won 1st 6-9 Sweepstakes. Zorro was Best in Sweepstakes at
2000 ARC Region II Specialty (Lima, Ohio), Best in Sweepstakes at
2000 Dogwood Rottweiler Club Specialty, Best in Sweepstakes at
2000 Gulfstream Rottweiler Club Specialty, and Best of Opposite
Sweepstakes at 2001 Seminole Rottweiler Club Specialty (his sister
Hailo was Best in Sweeps that day!). Zorro was also 1st
in the 12-15 Futurity at 2001 Medallion Rottweiler Club Specialty.
Zorro finished his
championship with a similar flair. He was Winners Dog and Best
of Winner for 4 point major at 2000 Carolina Rottweiler Club
Supported Entry, North Carolina from the 9-12 class and this
supported entry was the day before Regionals. Zorro finished
his championship at 17 months old by going Winners Dog for 5 points
at the 2001 Seminole Rottweiler Club Specialty.

Considering
Zorro's early finish, he was held out of the AKC show ring and
allowed to mature. During his time off, Zorro attended a few
German Sieger Shows, both ARV and USRC, and has never been out of the
ribbons. In fact, Zorro was V-1 ARV Sieger on Dec. 9, 2001,
Monticello, Florida and also V-1 Champion Class at 2002 United States
Rottweiler Club Nationals under ADRK breeder judge Gerhard Apel.

Since Zorro and
his family relocated to the West Coast and in particular, Reno,
Neveda, he knocked them dead with his handler Cheryl Cates. In
just seven weekends out in 2002, Zorro accumulated enough points for
the 2002 Eukanuba Classic by being in the Top 25 Rottweilers in the
United States. By the end of the year after only a few months
of showing, Zorro zoomed up to 2002 American Rottweiler Club Top
Twenty, over 40 Best of Breeds, not to mention an Award of Merit at
the '02 American Rottweiler Club Regional Specialty in Pleasanton,
California, as well as an Award of Merit at the '02 Southwestern
Rottweiler Club Specialty. With only spot showing in 2003,
Zorro again qualified for 2003 Eukanuba Classic as well as his
Canadian Championship.
